Due or Die · Legal

Privacy without the fine-print fog.

Due or Die is built to keep you accountable—not to build a profile about you. Most app data stays on your device. This policy explains the few cases where information is processed elsewhere.

Effective September 2, 2026

01

Information we handle

Information stored on your device

Your display name, tasks, due dates, completion status, app preferences, challenge history, and punishment state are stored locally on your device. Due or Die does not operate an account system or cloud-sync service for this information.

Camera information

If you enable optional selfie challenges, the app uses the front camera to take a temporary photo. The photo is not uploaded, is not added to your Photos library, and is deleted immediately after the challenge is completed.

Screen Time and notifications

If you grant permission, Due or Die uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, and notification frameworks to enforce the features you select. Selected app or category tokens, enforcement state, and scheduled notifications remain on your device and are used only to provide those features.

Purchase information

When you view or purchase premium access, Apple and RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, product and entitlement information, purchase history, transaction receipts, last-seen time, and limited device information such as device type and operating system. We do not receive your payment-card details.

Product analytics

Due or Die uses a pseudonymous RevenueCat app user identifier to associate limited product-usage and subscription-lifecycle events. These events may include onboarding choices, broad task use-case categories, whether a task uses protection or recurrence, task due dates, the number of selected Screen Time distractions, report views, purchase status, app version, operating system, device type, and locale. Analytics events do not include task titles, your display name, selfies, or the apps and categories you select in Screen Time. Session replay and location enrichment are disabled.

Cancellation feedback

If you use the in-app cancellation flow, you select a cancellation reason and may optionally enter up to 500 characters of additional feedback. Due or Die temporarily stores the pending answer on your device for up to 24 hours. After cancellation is confirmed, the app sends the reason, optional feedback, submission time, product, subscription-period type, and feedback source to PostHog and RevenueCat. Please do not include sensitive personal information in the optional response.

Support communications

If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include in your message. Please do not send sensitive information that is not needed to answer your request.

02

How information is used

Information is used only as needed to:

We do not sell or rent personal information. Due or Die does not include third-party advertising or behavioral advertising trackers.

03

Third-party services

Due or Die relies on the following providers for purchases, product analytics, and platform functionality:

These providers may retain information according to their own legal obligations and retention practices. We may also disclose information if required by law, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, our rights, or the security of the app.

04

Your choices and controls

To request access to, correction of, or deletion of information handled through support or RevenueCat, contact us using the address below. We may need limited information to locate the relevant purchase record and verify the request.

05

Retention and security

Locally stored information remains on your device until you delete it, clear it through available app controls, or remove the app. Support communications are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer your request, maintain appropriate records, and satisfy legal obligations. Pending cancellation feedback is stored on your device for no more than 24 hours unless it is submitted sooner. Local records used to avoid repeatedly requesting the same feedback remain until app data is removed. Purchase information, product analytics, and submitted cancellation feedback are retained by Apple, RevenueCat, and PostHog according to our service settings, their policies, and applicable law. You may contact us to request deletion of information associated with your pseudonymous app user identifier.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

06

Children’s privacy

Due or Die is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a support request, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

07

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app’s features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are published. Material changes will be communicated in the app when appropriate.
